About the
Register of Professional Contactors of
Ontario
 |
The Registry of Professional Contractors of Ontario has been created to make available to the home owner, a central source of professional home and commercial renovation contractors on whom they can rely for skill, integrity and value in all their work.
The current widespread uneasiness about hiring a contractor has been brought about by undesirable fringe elements in the industry. Most of these companies have done sloppy and unprofessional work and, in some cases, with no intention of completing the project at all. This has resulted in serious damage to the reputation of all the true professionals in the industry.
Women drive the renovation business and as more and more women are in homes alone, their lack of time and/or knowledge requires them to hire professional contractors to do work for them as do the women whose husbands are unable or unwilling to tackle a renovation.
Until now, contractors could only be found in the phone book where a minimum amount of information is included, or on the internet, if you were prepared to run the risk of their reliability and expertise.
The members of the Registry are vetted through personal interviews, carefully checked references, and a reputation for good character and integrity in their respective fields. This has attracted the best professionals in their respective fields.
Our mission is to raise the reputation of the “good guys” in the renovation industry and to provide a reliable source of professionals on whom the public can rely.
